Slow growing conifer, only growing 2″-3″ per year. Steely blue needles have best color in full sun. Will tolerate partial shade. Needs well drained soil. Drought tolerant when established. Juniperus squamata is not subject to Pear Trellis Rust, safe to plant where fruiting pear trees grow.
