Burgundy Jewel Vine Maple

A red leafed vine maple! Leaves emerge purple red, and hold that color through the summer when planted in sun. Smaller than seedling vine maples, Burgundy Jewel will reach 6′ in 10 years.

Acer circinatum, our native Vine Maple, is closely related to the Asian species that are called, as a group, Japanese Maples. These named forms of vine maple were selected for form and leaf interest, and like seedling vine maples, prefer sun to partial
shade and rich, well drained soils. With summer moisture, many forms can thrive in full sun in the maritime Pacific Northwest.
