Clusters of scarlet buds open to red flowers in spring. Evergreen foliage emerges red in spring, aging to deep green. To 4-5′ tall and wide. Needs well-drained, acidic, peaty soil and consistent moisture for best appearance. Part-shade. Very cold hardy and deer resistant.
