A splendid upright tree with a pyramidal form to 40′ tall and 25′ wide. Shiny green leaves turn rich shades of red, orange, yellow, and purple for months in fall. The interestingly patterned branches are ornamented with spiky seed balls through winter. ‘Worplesdon’ is more upright, has a strong branching pattern, and excellent fall color in the PNW. Prefers moist, acidic soil. Drought tolerant once established.
