Cidermaking 101: Foundations in fermentation, an entry to cidermaking

10/20/24, 12:30pm - 4:30pm
Students will learn the foundations of fermentation. This includes a brief history, some basic science involved in the fermentation process, and an extensive explanation of the equipment involved from the most basic at-home DIY to very sophisticated commercial production facilities. Students will be supplied with the necessary information, materials, and equipment to start the own cider fermentations.

They will make and take home their very own fermentations and have the knowledge and ability to replicate this process throughout their lives.

Dave Klawer is a Cidermaker and Orchardist in Skagit Valley. Dave is an Alumni of the Cider Institute of North America (CINA), is a Certified Pommelier, and continues to craft award-winning cider for Alma Cider.
